Thank you for helping us to make cosy rugs for those who need them this winter. We need:
- Donations of doubleknitting yarn and no 8 (4mm) needles
- Knitted or crocheted squares. Squares can be knitted by increasing up inevery row from 1 stitch – depending on tension, going up to about 40 stitches on no 8 (4mm) needles. Knitting straight takes about 30 stitches for a 6” square (or 200 stitches to knit a whole rug). For crotchet, please make “granny” or corner-to corner squares, 6” square or a large 40” square would make a great shawl, as well as a rug.
- Volunteers to help with sewing up squares to make rugs
- Finished rugs – 42 x 36 inches is very useful, but all sizes will be welcome for families and children.
You can pick up and drop off at all Perth & Kinross Libraries. Please phone LizBarrett on 01738 571527 or email liz4perthsouth@gmail.com if you need more information or can help with sewing up.
Thank you again for your help!
